The Foundation has been truly blessed with amazing individuals who also believe in the importance of our healthcare workers and of providing the foundation to support them on their path to receive the education required. With the financial support of these individuals, the Foundation has been able to establish and maintain scholarships and tuition reimbursement programs to assist with the financial burdens of pursuing a higher education.
The Foundation administers four different scholarships/tuition reimbursement programs.
· The Hexem Family Scholarship
· The Dr. LeRoy Mueller Scholarship
· The Marble Lutheran Church Educational Fund
· HCHA Tuition Reimbursement Program
The Hexem Family Scholarship was established and founded in 2015 by the generous donation(s) of the Hexem family. The purpose of the Hexem Family Scholarship is to assist employees of HCHA wanting to advance their education or certification in their chosen healthcare field. The recipient must show support in the community with civic or charitable activities and be enrolled in an accredited or advanced education recognized by HCHA.
The Dr LeRoy Mueller Scholarship was established in memory of Dr LeRoy Mueller to honor his many years of dedicated service to HCHA. This scholarship was created by HCHA and supported financially by the generous donations made by Dr Mueller’s family and friends. The Dr LeRoy Mueller scholarship is available to both HCHA employees and non-HCHA employed individuals. The scholarship is available for HCHA employees looking to further their healthcare related education as well as for individuals not employed by HCHA that are students enrolled in a healthcare related field.
The Marble Lutheran Educational Fund was established in 2005. Marble Lutheran Church’s generous donation enabled the Foundation to create an educational loan repayment program available to HCHA employees who incurred financial debt after completing their education in their chosen healthcare related field. Recipients awarded receive a one-time payment to the lending institution holding their debt.
The HCHA tuition reimbursement program was established by the Board of Directors of Hendricks Community Hospital Association to assist and acknowledge employees for their dedication and quality service to the patients served by HCHA. This program is available to current employees or dependents of current employees who have received or are pursuing a healthcare related degree.
In pursuance of our mission, one important endeavor of the Hendricks Memorial Healthcare Foundation has been to provide financial assistance to individuals who have or inspire to become instrumental components of the healthcare community. Since 2016, the Hendricks Memorial Healthcare Foundation has provided over $75,000 in financial assistance through scholarships/tuition reimbursements. By providing financial support, the hope is to encourage individuals to pursue and/or further their education to become those much-needed components of the healthcare community. With the effects of the pandemic on the healthcare community, the need for support, acknowledgement and encouragement to these individuals has never been so profoundly evident. Quality care starts with the foundation of knowledge and education.
The Hendricks Memorial Healthcare Foundation is a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation, established for the benefit and support of the communities served by the Hendricks Community Hospital Association. Our purpose is to receive charitable gifts and endowments to support the continuance of quality healthcare services available to those in need. We invite anyone interested in contributing, to please contact the Foundation. Together, we can work together to help ensure the legacy of quality healthcare right here at HCHA.
